The Ghost-Dance Religion and the Sioux Outbreak of 1890 by James Mooney,
Responding to the rapid spread of the Ghost Dance among tribes of the western United States in the early 1890s, James Mooney set out to describe and understand the phenomenon. He visited Wovoka, the Ghost Dance prophet, at his home in Nevada and traced the progress of the Ghost Dance from place to place, describing the ritual and recording the distinctive song lyrics of seven separate tribes.

Ghost Dance - The Ghost Dance — also known as the Ghost Dance of 1890 — as noted in historical accounts, is a millennialist spiritual movement among Native Americans in the United States that began toward the end of 1888 and reached its peak just before the Wounded Knee Massacre of 1890. Although the religion is still practiced, it enjoyed only a short period of popularity.

Ghost Dance (novel) - Ghost Dance is John Norman's 1979 historical fiction novel wherein a Sioux man and his tradition comes in conflict with a white woman and her civilization as the Wounded Knee Massacre approaches. As with the Norman's main body of work, "The Chronicles of Gor," Norman displays both philosophical reaction and an affinity with incorporating historical events with the actions of fictional characters.

Ghost Dance War - The Ghost Dance War was an armed conflict in the United States which occurred between Native Americans and the United States government from 1890 until 1891. It involved the Wounded Knee Massacre wherein the United States 7th Cavalry massacred over 300 men, women and children at Wounded Knee on 29 December 1890.
